part of being who I am and what I do involves knowing wht different things look like. Who made what styles and whatnot. I dont know how often we quote video game interfaces as examples of how things function. We cite title sequences for style or effects. Case in point this clip from the hills I am useing it for stylistic reference for a project, so I screen capped the intro from mtv.ca taking into account that I sit in an office of three people I turned their shitty intro music off and had the good doctor already playing and merrily went on my way and captured what I needed. What I didnt notice was that I was capturing with audio, and the pure magic of dr. hook has bonded itself with this snipit of the hils intro. I kid you not when I say this SHOULD be the intro song.
Another dashboard concert in the bag, tho the set was super short… not even an hour and the vibe just wasnt the same as their last acoustic tour… good none the less to fill the lack of dashboar up here in the north… above cover of p!nk, with members of the cab and plain white t’s
We seriously dont get out enough but when we do its usually for something we both enjoy enough to make a dent in our weekly routine with the embot. Last thursday we went to see dashboard at the guvernment, tho I still remember it as the kool hause but I digress. Concert was good. Openers in Joh Ralstein and Augustana were decent and I even bought a CD for 5$ with a 2$ tip which got me a USB memory stick with an entire show on it plus videos. Not bad.
Highlight for the night was the weezer el scorcho cover, while pinkerton is one of my fav albums of all time it was a decent cover and I happily found it on youtube to share.
I remember the 9th or 10th grade when I watched my first snowboarding video, Stickin’ in my eye was the first track of the video. I swear we watched that intro close to 200 times both for the riding content and the song. Pretty much since then I’ve enjoyed the music of NOFX. Sometimes quite funny I always find great pleasure in listening to the lyrics of the songs. Recently they released a 5 song EP called never trust a hippy, simply great. You should think about picking it up if your into NOFX at all. Rocking on ipod right now.
