Look out! I might blog again

So some people have been bugging me, that I’ve let my blogging slide. And while it’s 100% true ( last post was in January ) I’ve not had much to say. Other than complaining which apparently gets you in trubs. That aside I’m going to re-evaluate what it is to blog for me. Most of my stuff is out on twitter which you can find me at twitter.com/regalbear

I’ve really been enjoying tweeting as of late but I’ve come to realize that 140 characters isn’t good for getting quality thoughts out for the handful of people that might read this.

Btw here is a pic of emily cause she’s the greatest kid alive. Bar none!

Dunbar’s Number

While reading through my Morning RSS ritual I came across a post on the mashable! blog. Specifically they were discussing the theory of Dunbar’s Number. While using winelibrary.tv ‘s own gary vaynerchuk as an example of somebody who is pushing the limits of self marketing and user interaction by the means of social media. Dunbar’s Number is something that I experience everyday (more on that sometime later). But its also great to see somebody who is so passionate about what they do talk about the way they use social media to help promote their brand. at night after I put the fam to bed I sit up on my lappy and hammer out sites for friends. I’ve been doing it for a while. Helps to fill the creative void sometimes and I get free shit in returm. (thanks JOE!)

My black brother matt is a motion graphics designer, skater and all round super chill dude. I’ve been meening to make him a site for close to 2 years, we are notoriously bad at getting our shit together and thus designs sat un-used for a while. Matt came up with silkyblackgold.com a great URL. I worked up this site as a partial challenge to myself and a challenge to him to fill it with his dope work.

I think the site turned out great for the time it was given, I even learned a thing or two along the way. Under the hood there is an XML backend which matt can update, some jpegs here and there and some FLV’s round out teh assets this thing loads on the fly…. dope stuff.
