So recently I got an invite to join pownce. if youre familiar with the internet at all you’ll know that pownce is the new project from kevin rose (of digg.com fame) and some of his buddies.

pownce is an adobe air application (air was formerly codenamed apollo) AIR is Adobe Integrated Runtime. its a bit of software that lets you run web based code at a system level. You can build applications and stuff. But I wont get into that here.

pownce joins the legios of other IM software out there AIM/AOL/MSN/yahoo/google. But it handles it in a slightly different way as the pownce website puts it.

“Pownce is a way to send stuff to your friends. What kind of stuff? You can send just about anything: music, photos, messages, links, events, and more. You can do it all on our web site, or install our lightweight desktop software that lets you get out of the browser.”

seems really cool, and an AIR application ther than kuler that I might use on a regular basis.
